Questions about Vintage Summer Decor

Where to Look for Vintage Finds for Summer Decorating?

My top answer, and personal favorite place to look, is thrift stores! Secondhand shops yield a plethora of options for Summer decor finds. Think outside the box when thrifting for Summer decor, especially at thrift shops. Ask yourself how you could use something in a different way!

Other places to look include antique stores, garage sales, and estate sales.

How to Incorporate Vintage Finds Into a Home for Summer?

Honestly, there isn’t a straightforward answer for this. I just go by what I love (ie. milk glass, vintage jars, enamelware, etc…) and tweak it to fit the Summer season.

If you have a collection of something, such as pottery or copper, here are a few ideas you can try to make those pieces feel more Summer-ish:

  • add faux floral stems or greenery
  • choose a color scheme to help tie your finds together (like yellow, green, white, blue, red, or a combination of them)
  • use gingham ribbon to tie around handles or jars
  • if your decor is more neutral, try incorporating pops of color such as blue or yellow
