Today I’m sharing my list of vintage decor to find in 2022!

I watched a YouTube channel recently and she was talking about vintage decor pieces that she is looking for for her home this year. It was so inspiring to me because not only was she sharing what she is looking for but how and where she is hoping to use those pieces in her home!

It got me thinking about things that I’m always on the hunt for and thought I would share them with you in hopes of getting you excited as well! Follow along as I share my list of vintage decor to find in 2022.

Vintage Decor To Find In 2022

Mirrors

Vintage mirrors are just stunning. They bring so much character and light to a space. This large vintage mirror was recently purchased at the thrift store for $10! The curvy top is what drew me to it. I love how you can see into different rooms while sitting on the couch!

I am drawn towards mirrors that have a curved shape to them with simple detailing, nothing too ornate. The mirrors pictured below are very similar to what I’m looking for.

I’m hoping to find 2 vintage mirrors for my home. My plan is to use a mirror in the entry way to help usher more light into that space. I also would like to hang one in my dining room, right above the shelf where I have all my milk glass displayed. The back windows would catch all the light in the mirror and make that room look so much bigger!

Headboard

We had a headboard on our bed years ago but got rid of it because it just wasn’t our style anymore. Now, here I am two years later, wanting a headboard again! I’m looking for a vintage or vintage-inspired looking headboard, either iron or light toned wood with spindles.

I love the vintage inspired frame above with the arched details! The bronze color feels more ‘vintage-y’ to me than a traditional black iron headboard.

If I can find it, because these vintage wooden headboards in a king size are difficult to find, I would like a headboard very similar to the one pictured above. The spindles on the wood headboard above are amazing!

Vintage Books

One of my favorite influencers, XO, Macenna, has gotten me hooked on vintage books! She finds these beauties for $1-2 where she lives in Texas. I’m so amazed because I haven’t found any here in Minnesota for less than $3.

Even though I have a handful of books now, my goal with vintage books is to amass a collection of all different sizes and colors to use for decorating during the various holidays. I also intermingle them in my everyday decor to add height and dimension to displays and vignettes. I’m so inspired by CoCo at The Crowned Goat through the use of vintage books in her home. Truly stunning.

Tufted Chair

There is a small, empty corner in my bedroom that just screams “vintage chair!” I’m looking for a true vintage chair that is tufted, preferably with velvet upholstery. I have a very specific look in mind because I don’t want it to look too formal.

I’m hoping the chair I find falls somewhere in-between the two examples above. I’ll keep you posted as I scour Facebook Marketplace for the perfect vintage chair!

Barn Art

Vintage barn art is beautiful. I just love them so much. A few months ago at an antique store, Mitch, my husband, found this winter barn scene. I had never seen anything like it before! It was on sale for $20. After getting home, I researched the artist. Her name is Kay Dee and, come to find out, she has a whole series of these scenes. My mission now is to collect each of them!

These are a few barn art pieces that I currently own. Anytime I cruise through a thrift store, I check for barn art. It makes me giddy to know that I will, slowly, be adding to my beautiful barn collection!

Dining Table

Another large item I’m on the hunt for is a dining table in a raw wood finish, similar to the one shown above. Dining tables are special pieces. It’s the place where you gather after a long day, and, many times, is the center of the home. Linon Brigthon Rectangle Table, Light Natural Finish, 29.5 inches Tall

The dining table that is in my home right now is too large for the space and is also a little too modern for my taste. I would love to find one that has spindle type legs and curved detailing around the top. What a statement it will make!

Peg Rack

The next item on the list is a vintage wooden peg rack to use for hanging coats and the like on in the entryway. I’m really into natural wood tones lately for the warmth that they bring to a space.Image 1 - Vintage MCM Accordion Wooden Peg Rack Hanger Wall Hook Organizer Made in Japan

I’m open to either the accordion shape or a horizontal one. Whichever one happens to come along, I will be happy to add it to my home!

Wooden Cabinet

The last piece I will mention here today is a raw wood cabinet. I would like to find an antique cabinet, preferably with doors, to use as storage in the family room. The piece pictured above is not exactly a cabinet but it is the exact color that I’m looking for.

The cabinet above is a spitting image of what’s in my head except it’s not an old piece. I love the hardware on it but imagine if it was antique hardware?! How pretty!

That about wraps it up. Those are my 8 pieces of vintage decor to find in 2022! Of course I will always be on the hunt for vintage copper, linens, and milk glass as well. Sourcing vintage decor for your home is so special. You are intentionally creating a home that is a sanctuary for you, filled with things that you love. Be encouraged to find patience and joy through it all.

  • Rachel, I love many of the items you are looking for. Vintage books are expensive where I live. About $5 dollars each. I picked up most of my collection years ago living in the OC, CA. The price was right at $1 a bag!
I would love it if you would share this post at my Friday with Friends link party: https://myhubbardhome.com/friday-with-friends-winter-crafts/

    Have a good weekend,
    Rachelle

  • I love that you look for these things too, Rachel! I swear I cannot pass up vintage books or dishes even though I already have way too many 🤣 I’m so thankful we can get out and about after having to deal with the pandemic for a few years. I miss treasure hunting so much! Love all the goodies you found and I can’t wait to see even more. Hugs, CoCo

      Hello CoCo!!
I’m thankful I have found a community who loves these things as much as me! Dishes always get me…like…do I really need one more plate or bowl?? Yes..yes I do! It’s so fun to swing through a thrift store because you never know what will be in there that day! Thanks CoCo for your sweet comment and for stopping by today…I appreciate it more than you know! Have a lovely weekend!

  • I’m always on the lookout for vintage goodies! Books are always on my list – we go to auctions a lot and we come across vintage books stuck in dresser drawers. We have the smallest choir book (approx 3″x4″) dated to the late 1800s! I can’t believe someone left it there! Thanks for sharing! Pinning 😊
