Journey Jots #27

Hello, guys! Hope you are well.

It was another fun week as my hubby celebrated his 40th birthday this past Wednesday! Yes…we are one week apart but by 3 years. He rang in a new decade with some amazing authentic ramen takeout and leftover birthday cake 🙂

Life Lately

Last weekend, we celebrated April birthdays at my sister’s house. My brother-in-law, myself, and hubby all have April birthdays spaced roughly one week apart from each other. It’s always a fun time to all get together and have a festive birthday celebration!

I bought some bubbles for Molly and we tried them outside for the first time. She wasn’t sure of them but I know will love them as she gets older!

Molly is on the move constantly and is so exhausted by 7 PM every night. I managed to snap a photo of us right before she went to bed!

The weather has been warming up slightly and we were able to get a long bike ride in last weekend.

Our favorite route takes us on a gorgeous bike trail that goes through the woods.

And, there are old brewery ruins from the early 1900’s right off the trail! It’s so cool but creepy at the same time.

We’ve biked by it so many times but this is the first time I actually found artifacts!

This old piece of pottery, that I’m assuming is from an old crock, was just lying in the leaves. Isn’t that so neat?!

Lastly, this past Sunday, we had my in-laws over for one last birthday celebration. My MIL baked an amazing blueberry nut bundt cake for us! (P.S. If I look tired to you in this pic, I was!! This is right after we biked 21 miles and I was beat.)

Although our birthday’s are behind us for the year, we have one more occasion to celebrate! Yesterday, the 27th, marked our 12th wedding anniversary.

So, as you are reading this, we are out of town for a much needed 4 day getaway at our favorite spot out in the country. I’ll share more pics when we get back.

Here’s one of my favorite photos from our wedding…just babies, right?! Cheers, guys!
