Journey Jots #15

Hello, guys! I am back from sunny Florida and it’s so good to be home.

We had such an amazing time playing and basking in the warmth. It thawed us out!

I had my first go at saltwater fly fishing and I’m hooked. I caught some beautiful ocean-dwelling fish and can’t wait to go back for more!

Life Lately

Since we’ve been away, I don’t have much to share from the home front. We are getting back into the swing of things post-vacation and Tilly is SO happy to have her humans back.

So, I’ll share a few more snippets from Florida!

Our uncle took us to the new St. Petersburg Pier for a spectacular sunset over Tampa Bay.

Fishing was the highlight of our trip, for sure. We were at the ocean everyday, trying our luck at catching a Snook or a Redfish. We didn’t catch either of those but managed to hook into some smaller fish.

On one of the days, as I was standing in the water, a small shark came swimming RIGHT by my feet! It was super cool but I was also a bit spooked for a few minutes.

The Florida coast is just stunning and full of the most beautiful wildlife. We saw probably a dozen dolphins… one even came within 10 feet of me while we were fishing!

From flora and fauna to starfish in the sand, there is nothing about the ocean that I don’t absolutely love. Even though it feels great to be home, I can’t wait to get back…this time not waiting another 4 years!

  • So glad you had a wonderful vacation! You need to come back next year and plan to go to Renninger’s Antique Extravaganza while you’re here! That would be so much fun!!

  • So glad you guys had an amazing time, Rachel! The weather in Florida has been chilly but also really beautiful these past few weeks. Plus I think off season trips are better because the restaurants and stores aren’t as crowded so you can find some fabulous goodies. So cool you saw a shark and a dolphin too! I swear I’ve lived her a good part of my life and it never gets old to see how many wonderful sea creatures we’re blessed to share space with. Big hugs, CoCo
