Life Lately

Ohhhhh boy what a week it was. I figured it would be nice and quiet after the busy bike ride weekend but nope.

As you may know, my sweet Tilly girl has a host of allergies. They have been particularly horrid this season and she broke out in hives early in the morning mid-week. After 3 vet visits in one day and being on a myriad of antihistamines as well as steroids, she was finally hive free and back to normal over the weekend.

I just love her SO deeply and I just hate to have her go through things like that. She was never in any danger but it really affects me when my most special doggy has bumps all over!

But, I’m happy to report that she’s on a new allergy medication now that is really helping, so we’re all good to go.

But! In the midst of all that, we did some fun home projects over the past week and a half!

When we moved into our townhome almost 10 years ago, it needed SO much help. All the wood trim was a gross red color. So, not knowing what direction we wanted to take things, we decided at the time to just paint everything white. So, ever since then, the back windows and patio door have been painted white! We were tired of the white and wanted a change so we painted the door, trim, and windows the same color as the hallway.

I AM IN LOVE with how they turned out!!

The patio door really got a refreshed look. We hadn’t planned on getting new curtains, but the left blind broke the other day, so we were left with an easy decision!

Honestly, I don’t know why we didn’t do this sooner…it feels like a whole new house just by taking off the clunky, old blinds and installing linen curtains! I’m obsessed with it…the whole house feels cozier, you know?!

Finally, it was SO hot last week with temps soaring over 100 degrees. I’ve been trying to drink less iced coffee, don’t want to drink plain water all the time, yet still need a pick-me-up during the day, especially with the heat.

So, I found this juice and LOVE it. It’s super refreshing, healthy, and really does give me some energy in the middle of the day. You can find the juice here!

Weekly Shopping Finds- Necessary Home Improvements

  • After Tilly’s allergy flare up, we decided we needed to invest in new washable area rugs. We went with this oval area rug and two of these runners.
  • My sister recommend this air purifier and it has not disappointed. I don’t know why we didn’t invest in one years ago!
  • This pretty brushed bronze curtain rod is the perfect amount of chic yet neutral. And, for a beach-y, breezy vibe all year round, these linen curtains are amazing.
  • We recently hung this pretty bamboo wall cabinet in the hall bath and completely love it!
  • I adore Hearth and Hand kitchen towels. They are super thick, high quality towels for very inexpensive! I went all out and purchased three new ones recently…green, pink, and striped.

Finally, if you are hosting a 4th of July get together, these patriotic table decor ideas from dollar store items are super festive! Sometimes, I go into the dollar store without a plan and let my creativity take over…it’s amazing what it comes up with!
