Journey Jots #86
Hello, guys! How are you? How is your July going? Have you found anything neat thrifting lately?!
I love hearing from you and learning what’s new in your world. Let me know in the comments!
Life Lately
You guys!! We’ve been BLESSED with the most amazing, cooler weather the past few days!! It’s been in the low 50’s at night and only in the upper 60’s during the day. It feels like fall and I am HERE. FOR.IT!! It’s been SO hot and humid and I was beginning to loathe going outside because the second I stepped out, I would already be sweating.
This weather is SUCH a relief and it just feels SO good…I’ve got EVERY window in the house open letting the cool breeze come through! Hopefully you are getting some nice temps, too.
The above photo is of a bike trail near our house that we frequently ride on. Well, this day, we were trying to get across to the other side of the river and, due to all the recent rains, the trail was flooded! But, this pretty heron was standing on it, catching fish as they rode the water across the trail. What a smart bird!
Ummmmm hi, pretty teapot 🙂 If you saw a recent Instagram reel I posted last week, you may have seen this estate sale find!! I haven’t found ANY vintage copper in SO long…probably going on a year now. I used to be able to readily find it at thrift stores but not anymore!
Well, I was on my home from an errand last week and there was an estate sale sign at the four way stop, so I followed it and it brought me to this teapot for only $5.00!! Wahoo!
Last weekend, we went fishing for the day at our favorite state park. It was humid but the water was beautiful and we each caught a trout in the morning. After lunch, we went back out for a few more hours of fishing, or so we thought, but as soon as we got to the next pool, I started itching like crazy and breaking out in hives.
Turns out, there were a few tiny little spiders inside my sun shirt hood that were biting me!! We had to quickly walk back to the car to drive 30 minutes into town so we could get itch cream and a bottle of antihistamine pills. I was SO frustrated that we had to end the day so abruptly. Stupid, spiders!
We also took Tilly to the lake the other night for a pretty sunset walk. There is a trail that goes out to this neat sandbar and peninsula and we all waded around in the water for a while. It was super peaceful and Tilly loved it!
Finally, I’ve started my second paint by number of the year! This one is going to be pretty intense…it took me over an hour just to fill in half the number 1’s. Any guesses on what this one is going to be?! I’m hoping to have it finished by the end of September but we shall see.

I saw a washable rug with a vintage look in one of your posts. There was a link to amazon but it didn’t work and then overnight I lost the post. It looked perfect for my room and was inexpensive too. How can I find it? You talked about the softness too. Ugh! I have been looking for so long and it looked just right. It is not on the ltk site. Definitely you shared an Amazon link.
Hi, Debra!
Let me go back and take a look. I will send you an e-mail if I can find what I think you are talking about. Thanks so much!
Hi there! We had great luck on our last trip to the thrift store and at the Renningers Yard Sale last Saturday! Hope our luck holds out the rest of the summer! Enjoy those cool temps and get ready because it is HOT in FL! So sorry to hear about the spider bites! Have a great week!
Yay!! Happy for you!
OH…it’s back to hot here, too. I’m so ready for fall!!
