Life Lately

Last weekend, hubby, Tilly, and myself spent a few days off grid in the country! We stayed at this exact same AirBNB last year for our anniversary…we loved it so much that we went back again. It’s situated on the owner’s 120 acre farm and is RIGHT on the creek where we fly fish.

You guys…it’s the most dreamy location. Waking up to the sound of the river rushing coupled with hundreds of birds chirping….there’s just nothing better.

We fished and fished to our heart’s delight and had the most EPIC day. Between the two of us, we caught at least 30 Trout!

Here’s my largest fish of the trip…the most beautiful rainbow! BTW, we always have been, and always will be, catch and release anglers. I net the fish, take a quick photo, and put it right back in the river where they belong.

This stretch of the river is filled with large trees, big boulders, and mossy banks. The running water soothes my soul…I could just live here, you know??

On the drive down, we went into in a small town that we’ve always wanted to stop at but never have. But, since we had Tilly with us, we decided it was the perfect time!

This town has the oldest covered bridge left in the US…I believe it’s from the late 1800’s and served as a stagecoach bridge that connected people coming up from Dubuque, Iowa to Minnesota. Isn’t it SO cool?! Tilly thought it was neat, too 🙂

Finally, after we arrived home, Tilly was very happy about it. She immediately wanted to go lay outside in the sunshine, quite content with being out of the car.

Weekly Shopping Finds: Re-Stocking Supplies and Goods

  • Bug season is quickly approaching. I re-stocked my favorite natural bug spray that the whole family uses!
  • I needed a re-supply of white socks. This large pack of Puma socks are SO soft and comfy and I love the colors.
  • We go through dish towels like crazy! I always love to purchase inexpensive towels when I find them like this green one or this striped one.
  • I buy this bar soap a few at a time because I love it so much. It’s the perfect mild soap to use in the shower.
  • Wanna see a few of my favorite healthy snacks that I recently stocked up on?? These cheese crackers , Kashi cereal, and honey cinnamon cookies are some of my go-to’s.
